I’ve always had an interest in sculpture, from seeing the public exhibits whilst living in Harlow, to being totally inspired by the works of Barbara Hepworth in St Ives. My initial works proved very successful so I gradually progressed to more complex pieces. The latest King and Queen have yet to be shown, and reside proudly in our hallway.
To produce my sculptures I use the sand cast polystyrene technique where the polystyrene is shaped with a hot wire and then buried in moulding sand before the pure bronze is poured in.
The polystyrene mould is instantly vaporized leaving the bronze cast to solidify in the sand.
