“The expression of the unpredictable is not only at the centre of the subject matter but is also and integral part of the painting process. Through a series of washes and painted layers this allows the unpredictable chance combinations of colour and texture.”

I occassionally get asked to give talks and presentations. In January I gave a talk to 500 art students at West Suffolk Collage in Bury St Edmunds and the following month I gave a talk and demonstration at Benenden School in Kent. The London Original Print Fair at The Royal Academy is an exhibition I always look forward to. This year however, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it will take place digitally throughout May 2020. I am exhibiting with Eames Fine Art and my print Frozen which was purchased by The British Museum is one of the prints that will be on sale. I’ve recently shown both prints and paintings at the lovely Twenty Twenty Gallery in Ludlow and there is talk that I may be showing new prints in their Christmas Print show.

With my Solo Show coming up in November at Eames Fine Art, I have been busy producing a new set of prints at Sudbourne Studios and at home, I have been working on a new set of paintings. One of the nicest aspects of this business is visiting the galleries that represent my work. Recently I delivered new work to the excellent Zillah Bell Gallery in Thirsk where it was fantastic to talk to John Bell about his recent trip to Ireland with Norman Ackroyd and Barbara Rae – what a time they had! More recently, I delivered prints to a new gallery for me – Twenty Twenty Gallery in Ludlow. I was in luck there too because they had a fabulous exhibition of St. Ives’ artists which I was able to enjoy. My prints will be exhibited there from 21st September until 26th October 2019 in an exhibition entitled ‘A Sense of Place’. For further details please click here.

My Solo Show at Eames Fine Art in November and December 2018 was a wonderful success with sales continuing into January and February. I’d like to thank all those who attended the Show and especially those who purchased either a painting or print. In February Chris and I were invited to Marlborough College where my work was on display at Art @the Lodge. The following day we travelled to Bristol to see the wonderful Albert Irvin Exhibition at the RWA.

You may remember back in 2017 I was lucky enough to be involved in the film ‘Palmer and Me’, a documentary depicting the responses of contemporary artists to the etchings of Samuel Palmer, produced and directed by Mike Southon. To view the video, please click here.
